We specialize in manufacturing Gray Iron Disc Castings, primarily Brake Discs / Rotors, Flywheels, and Pulleys, using a Green Sand Horizontal Molding Line for high-volume stable production.
This molding line offers significant advantages for disc casting industrialization:
High Efficiency & Consistency : The horizontal line operates at 60-120 molds per hour with uniform mold hardness (compaction ≥85%), ensuring excellent dimensional consistency across batches. Brake disc thickness tolerances can be stably controlled within ±0.3mm, minimizing machining stock adjustments.
Process Design for Discs : For thin-walled disc structures like brake discs and flywheels, we use bottom-fill gating systems with ring risers to ensure smooth filling and avoid turbulence-induced gas defects. Optimized green sand permeability (≥90 AFS) and moisture content (3.2%-3.8%) effectively eliminate common issues like blowholes and shrinkage porosity.
Material Stability : Gray iron (HT200/HT250/HT300) offers excellent damping capacity and thermal conductivity—ideal for brake discs (requiring dimensional stability under friction heat) and flywheels (requiring vibration absorption). We strictly control Carbon Equivalent (CE 3.8%-4.2%) to achieve Type-A graphite + >95% pearlitic matrix, ensuring smooth machinability and uniform hardness distribution on braking surfaces.
Our horizontal line handles diameters from Φ100mm to Φ600mm and weights from 1kg to 50kg with ample annual capacity for large-volume long-term contracts.
