We specialize in manufacturing Slurry Pump Castings using advanced Lost Foam Casting (LFC) technology, offering both High-Chromium Cast Iron and Gray Iron material solutions to precisely match the working conditions of different pump components:
High-Chromium Cast Iron Flow Parts : Grades Cr26 / Cr28 / Cr15Mo3, with a microstructure of high-hardness martensitic matrix and dispersed M7C3 carbides (HV 1200-1800). As-cast hardness reaches HRC 50-55, and after quenching & tempering heat treatment, it achieves HRC 58-62. This material is specifically designed for slurries containing highly abrasive solids such as silica sand, iron ore, and coal gangue, offering wear resistance 5-8 times that of ordinary cast iron. Typical flow parts include Impeller, Front Liner, Rear Liner, Casing Liner / Shell, and Volute.
Gray Iron Structural Parts : Grades HT250 / HT300, used for components that bear pump pressure but are not subject to particle erosion, such as Pump Body / Casing, Bracket / Pedestal, and Base. Gray iron offers excellent vibration damping and cost-effectiveness with good machinability.
Key Advantages of Lost Foam Process : Using EPS foam patterns that vaporize during pouring, LFC features no parting lines, no cores, and no flash burrs—especially suitable for the complex twisted flow passages of slurry pump volutes and impellers. Compared to conventional resin sand casting, LFC improves dimensional accuracy by 1-2 grades (achieving CT8-9 grade) with superior surface finish. The smooth flow passages can enhance pump hydraulic efficiency by 3%-5%, while eliminating core shift, mismatch, and fins, significantly reducing post-machining requirements.
